THE PARADE IS Sun., Oct. 26, 2014, 2:30 p.m. The stat/finish is at Marina Vista Park, 5355 E. Eliot St. Long Beach, 90803 (at the end of Marine Stadium; across from the fire station). The parade is on the concrete bike path that runs through the park from Colorado St. to Eliot St.

The vendor fair and pet adoption fair is in the park from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Costumed kids and adults without dogs will lead the parade at 2:25 p.m., followed by the dogs at 2:30 p.m. Weiner races at 2 p.m. Great pumpkin drop at 2:15 p.m.

Register to be in the human costume parade and/or dog costume parade at the orange registration tent in the park after 12:30 p.m.

The parade expects 500+ dressed-up dogs and lasts about an hour.

SEATING Bring your own folding chair, or rent one of our 600 front-row seats IN THE PARK for just $5, starting at about 1 p.m. The seats did sell out last year. Please bring correct change. You can reserve a seat for $10 at

PARKING
There
 is free street parking surrounding the very large park. You can also park in the Marine Stadium parking lot, accessed from Nieto Ave., behind the fire stationPARKING MAP

V.I.P. (VERY IMPORTANT POOCH) ENTRY
Available for advance registrations only, the dog/owner can walk near the front of the parade. VIPs will line-up as directed at sign-in and will step off first at 2:30 p.m.


DOG PARADE REGISTRANTS – WHAT TO DO NEXT?
Sign-in at the orange-colored Haute Dogs registration tent when you arrive. There will be a line for VIP registrants, day-of registrants and a line for pre-paid registrants.

AWARDS & PRIZES

– top 13
 prize packs will be given to the judges’ top-13 favorite entriescombination from any of the following categories: individual dogs, groups, or floats.

Judges are Looking for:
– best costumes on dogs
– best costume on people walking a dog in the parade
– best groups (any combo of at least two dogs/people)
– best “floats” Limit 5′ wide. A float is any dog(s) riding in/upon/within a moving, non-motorized device; such as a wagon or pulled cart.

An entry can be a single dog dressed up, a group of dogs dressed up, a contingent of dog(s) with their person(s). Each dog must be registered separately, and paid. Prizes include gift certificates.

VOLUNTEER
Arrive at 11:15 or noon and stay til 5 p.m. to help with registration, water stations, start/finish line, etc. Also, please bring a bag of ice when you arrive.
