Angel Dogs

Welcome To Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs!

Restoring lives one dog at a time!

There are over 52 million people or approximately 20% of our population in the United States that are mentally and/or physically disabled and those numbers continue to grow significantly each year. There are currently over 400,000 Veterans in treatment for PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and it is estimated that with the Iraq and Afghanistan wars there is an additional 33% increase in our returning soldiers. There are over 11 million people who require assistance with one or more daily activity such as walking, picking up dropped items, answering the phone, etc. Roughly 12 million others require a wheelchair or some other ambulatory equipment such as a cane, walker or crutches. There are both visible and invisible disabilities.  Mobility is an obvious visible disability, but insulin imbalances, seizures and PTSD are examples of invisible disabilities.  The assistance these disabled people require not only strips them of their individual freedoms and quality of life, but also, often creates an enormous burden on the caregivers and community.

It is our goal, that by combining our business skills and our cutting edge dog training skills, that we can bring dignity and independence to many disabled people through our custom trained service dogs. For that purpose, Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs, Inc., was founded in north central Florida. With the southern United States having the highest numbers of disabled people, the majority of our recipients are in Florida and the bordering states, however, we will assist others outside of this area whenever possible.

It is truly incredible when you find out all of the things our medical service dog’s can really do to help people live a more independent life. These very special dogs help to give people back their self-confidence and independence.
